As most true Bahamians, Greg Roberts enjoys fishing, sailing, and boating. Though born in Nassau, Greg traces his forefathers to original Loyalist settlers on Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. Greg was schooled in the islands, Canada, England, and the US. He eventually opted to follow his love of flying and obtained his Airline Transport License. He flew passenger jets for the national air carrier, Bahamasair, during its hey day. Captaining planes from Nassau to major cities throughout the US, Greg also was chosen to serve as the Prime Minister's protocol pilot during his visits to other countries.
Greg became interested in real estate and began selling in 1991, mostly residential in Nassau and private islands throughout the Exumas. In his time off Greg traveled the world. He retired and moved to Breckenridge, Colorado in 1996. But the mountains were no competition for the sea and Greg returned to the Bahamas in 1999. After the relaxed ski resort lifestyle of Breckenridge, both Greg and his wife Gigi opted for the tiny village of Hope Town. They had a real pull as Greg's son Brian and his two grandsons were already established on Elbow Cay.
Greg is a full-time resident of Hope Town. He is active in the Bahamas Real Estate Association, sponsors a local Bahamian student in college and supports various hometown causes like the Elbow Cay Reef Lighthouse, Hope Town Fire & Rescue, Hope Town School and Abaco Swim Club. |
